The Fossil Record is a personal project with a few goals. First, I wanted to create a publishing platform that would enable a single person or a small team to curate and aggregate a large amount of content around a wide or narrow focus. I also wanted something that could be used as a blogging tool and image gallery.
The Fossil Record is also a sandbox where I can try out new programming ideas and have fun working on all the little projects I think of.
Finally, I like to follow the news but I get tired of social media noise and advertising. With The Fossil Record, I have a quiet place where I can quickly get an overview of the topics I'm interested in.
